GREEN ROOFS AND LIVING WALLS

Plugs or Cuttings

-NATS carries a wide selection of plants suitable for green roofs that includes; perennials, bulbs, grasses, ground covers and a variety of sedums.
-You can opt to plant plugs into your media to create a specific effect, or to simply scatter a dense carpet of sedum cuttings across the surface. With careful plant selection, both methods will produce a functional roof.

Live RoofLiveRoof Modular Green Roof System

-NATS is proud to be a registered distributor of the LiveRoof System.

-This system has several benefits:
-the trays are grown to 95% coverage at the nursery before installation , providing a great "instant green effect" for ribbon cutting ceremonies.
-all components above the waterproof membrane and root barrier are included in the cost. (Tray, Substrate and Plants)
-this reduces the grow in time and decreases the likelihood of weeds colonizing
-the plants are already established, so maintenance watering is lessened.

In our unique Pacific Northwest climate, NATS has devised four specific plant assemblages designed to fulfill most planting needs.

A. Sedum Assortment - a mix of the best sedum performers
B. Sedums, Bulbs and Grasses - for a more textured look, with seasonal flowers
C. Wild West Mix for Sun - a grassland meadow look that will thrive in exposed sites with perennials, bulbs and grasses
D. Wild West Mix for Shade - a shade garden look, with ferns, perennials and ground covers. Suitable for shady spots only.

You also have the option of designing your own grouping. We have three on-site testing areas to trial plants for their suitability for the green roof climate and have compiled a great plant list.
