LiveRoof

NATS Nursery Ltd. is a registered grower and distributor of the LiveRoof Modular System.  The world's only HYBRID System. This is a fantastic option for a roof ready to provide all of the benefits of a green roof and the gorgeous look with none of the establishment time and effort.

MODULE SPECIFICATIONS:
The LiveRoof tray is 12" by 24" long and 4" deep with the soil elevators.
The soil elevators are removed after the tray is locked into surrounding trays, for a seamless look.
On the roof, the tray is laid upon the waterproof membrane and slip sheet. The borders are then completed with edging.
The growing time varies according to the time of year that the project is being installed.
Generally it is 16-18 weeks for staple species. Specialty mixes may take longer
to propagate. *Please note: ALL LiveRoof projects are custom-grown for you.  Speak with your sales representative for specifics on the time-line for ordering.

What Plants Go Into the Modules?
LiveRoof Module Pacific Northwest Plant Assemblage Options

Option A:
Sedum Cutting Blend

The most cost-effective option. Excellent in very exposed and dry sites or where plant height is a consideration. Lowest maintenance.
The mix is composed of both compact and more vigorous species (for coverage) which includes seasonal considerations.
(Examples: Sedum spathulifolium, Sedum stenopetalum ,Sedum hybridum Immergrunchen, Sedum sichotense, Sedum spurium VooDoo, Sedum rupestre Angelina, Sedum sexangulare )

Option B:
Sedums, Bulbs and Grasses

More visible sites will enjoy the presence of flowering species and their pollinators.
(Examples: Sedum album, Sedum floriferum 'Weihenstephaner Gold', Sedum oreganum , Sedum spurium Royal Pink, Brodiaea spp., Camassia quamash, Allium spp., Festuca spp.

Option C:
Wild West Mix -Sun
The most varied of the assemblages. For sites where biodiversity is key, or habitat corridors are being created. A visible roof will be aesthetically rich, with various shapes, colours and textures and good seasonal interest.
(Examples: Achillea millefolium, Castilleja miniata, Eriophyllum lanatum, Fragaria spp., Penstemon spp., Sedum spp., Sisyrinchium spp., Solidago spp. , Festuca spp., Camassia quamash.)

(Examples:Aquilegia formosa, Dicentra formosa, Fragaria spp., Maianthemum dilatatum, Blechnum spicant, Polystichum munitum , Frittilaria lanceolata)

Option D:
Designer Assemblage
An alternate option is to design your own specific palette. This is useful where you are creating either a specific look with
colours, shapes or textures or replicating a desired habitat. Our plant experts can help you select which species meet
the requirements for your roof.
