The NATS Naturals ... Naturally! family of packages: GREEN - species that thrive in an often moist or well-drained and partially to fully shaded area such as a forest or woodland. (Dicentra Formosa, Smilacina stellata, Blechnum spicant, Mahonia nervosa, Vaccinium parvifolium and Acer circinatum, for example.)
TAN - plants often found in the conditions common to grassland-meadows or roadsides. Usually comprised of well-drained to dry soils in full sun to partial shade. (Achillea millefolium, Allium cernuum, Lupinus polyphyllus, Sedum spathulifolium, Ribes sanguineum, Rosa nutkana, and Mahonia aquifolium, for example.)
PURPLE - a specialty category, further subdivided into three groups: Bog- wet and often acidic soils (ex. Kalmia microphylla, Ledum groenlandicum and Viola palustris) Mountain- exposed, rocky soils in a more extreme climate (ex. Castilleja minata, Phyllodoce empertriformis and Tsuga mertensiana) Shoreline- maritime climate, with sandy, well-drained soils, salt spray and full sun exposure (ex. Lupinus littoralis, Fragaria chiloensis, Arbutus menziesii and Rosa rugosa)
BLUE - riparian and wetland areas, characterized by wet or evenly moist soils (Aruncus sylvester, Heracleum lanatum, Cornus sericea, Myrica gale and Athyrium filix-femina for example)
